Our newly designed SSC windshield for the Electra Glide FLHT series is a radical departure from the original OEM style windshields. The goal of the SSC windshield was to (1) reduce the turbulence for the rider and passenger’s torso/head area, and (2) reduce the wind noise for both rider and passenger while keeping the classic good looks of the FLHT intact.

We have tested the SSC and the results have been very favorable. By reducing the distance from the shield/rider, and redesigning the contour of the shield to redirect the wind away to the sides of the rider as it exits the trailing edge of the shield, we have achieved more favorable riding conditions for the rider and passenger on the FLHT.

The windshields are available in sizes from 9” to 15”. In order to achieve an equivalent OEM HD type shield height, you have to add 3” to the SSC windshield height, i.e., if you use a 9” HD type shield, get a 12” SSC shield. For optimum performance the crown or top of the shield needs to be level with your mouth. It can be slightly above or below, if too high the crown of the shield is now in your line of sight or if too low you will get too much air turbulence. For example you had a standard 11” shield and the top of the shield was level with your mouth in a straight line then you would need a 14” to keep it the same height. This is not an exact science how ever this measuring method has been reported to be very accurate. If you’re caught in between sizes you’re better off to miss on the high side, we can always adjust but we can’t add to it. Simply sent it back on your dime and we will adjust it to any height and ship it back at no additional charge.

The SSC windshield comes closer to the rider, which helps lessen the turbulence and noise on your ride. All windshields are manufactured from aircraft grade acrylic (except opaque black) in .125, and hand-crafted in our Montebello, CA production facility. These windshields are not  laser–cut flat pieces of general purpose extruded acrylic . All windshields are individually custom CNC cut, then thermoformed to shape, heat annealed, hand polished and fit checked for accuracy in installation. Windshields in clear, light gray tint, light blue tint, light green tint are D.O.T. approved, and are available in the non D.O.T. dark gray, bronze tints and opaque black also. All windshields are made to order, allow one to two weeks for delivery. Will fit all 96 & UP FLHT’S and Street Glides.

Windshield bags will not fit SSC windshields.
